An Afternoon at the Getty
Spring is suddenly everywhere here in Los Angeles—we’ve had some gorgeous days of sunshine, so my friend Leslie and I decided to make time to enjoy the outdoors by taking an afternoon trip to wander the grounds of the Getty Center.
Though we were originally planning to wander the galleries as well, we happened to arrive on the crowded opening day of a new exhibit (Paris: Life and Luxury! Sounds absolutely gorgeous!). Instead, we decided to bypass the large crowds indoors and took in the natural art found outdoors in the gardens and in the unexpected. I’m a big believer that inspiration can be found anywhere, if you remain aware and curious. I loved the pattern that the shadow of this railing made with the garden path…
A simple drink and irises make a stunning vignette…
The restaurant at the Getty had some amazing creative details! Love this wall:
I’m smiling just looking at these pictures—it was a relaxing afternoon of ‘stolen time,’ filled with visual inspiration, sunshine, photography, and friendship. If you’re planning to visit Los Angeles (or if you live here), I highly recommend a trip to the Getty one day this summer—it’s a great way to get recharged and reinspired. Wishing you all a happy, safe, and fulfilling week ahead of you…xoxo
