Summer (and Autumn) in New York… part 2

One of my new favorite places is a revitalized baking complex, now called Chelsea Market.  Originally the big brick building housed The New York Biscuit Company (makers of Saltines, Fig Newtons, Barnum’s Animal Crackers), and now it’s home to a series of food shops, restaurants, and other little stores filled with all sorts of treasures.

The building is an absolutely beautiful mix of vintage, modern, and industrial elements, and is filled with great energy from the visitors who pour in off the surrounding streets.

We had breakfast at Sarabeth’s Bakery with one of our dear friends who lives in the city.  I had an omelette with goat cheese & apple butter—delicious combination! After the market, we wandered a few streets over in West Chelsea to check out the High Line...a new post is coming tomorrow!xoxo
